Alberton Home Affairs Complaints

Alberton Home Affairs Complaints: A woman says she went into the Home Affairs offices with her daughter (November 23) and after hours of standing in the queue, they were told to move and then just sent after that from pillar to post. “When I asked to speak to a manager, things really started to get bad. This official came out and immediately started getting abusive towards my daughter and I. He pushed my daughter hard on the chest, so we called the police; little knowing that that would be a mistake,” says the woman. There seems to be a large number of complaints against Home Affairs, but nothing is being done – and when the police get involved and protect the alleged assailant and ignore the victim; there’s something very wrong.

“I’m trying to get hold of the video footage too, but the police officers and the official were threatening the security guard and telling him to delete the footage or he would be sorry – so I don’t know if it even exists anymore,” says the woman. The witness who stepped in to help the victim, confirms the mother and daughter’s version of events and that all she stated was correct. There has been no response from home affairs on the matter.
